Aside from my own piece questioning whether 17-year-old Trayvon Martin stole the Skittles he reportedly had in his possession when he was killed, the most accurate journalism I’ve found that gives us a complete representation of who Martin was is titled “Was Trayvon Martin a Drug Dealer?” It’s written by Dan Linehan. An excerpt’s below:
The media narrative being sold is quite clear, Trayvon Martin is the innocent victim here and George Zimmerman is a horrible bigot who attacked the young man for doing nothing more than buying skittles while being black. Even Barack Obama seems to accept the fresh-faced innocence of Trayvon, stating, “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon.” More on that later.It’s becoming more and more clear however that the innocent appearance the mainstream media is so desperate to apply to Trayvon isn’t at all accurate. The picture we’re used to seeing to represent Trayvon Martin appears to be a far cry from how he actually looked once he was a few years older.
Linehan’s discourse shows how the young, black male was pro black ghetto culture (which translates to anti white), had riddled his body with tattoos, was (as noted in the headline) suspended from school in Miami and visisting his dad in Sanford and details some of the violence toward authority in his past.
When you connect all the dots, not only had he probably stolen the Skittles, he may actually have become threatening to Zimmerman – who, yes, is responsible for getting the ball rolling.

Um… okay… this is so sad. First of all Trayvon Martin was suspended from school for 5 days and this was because he had too many late days on his record. Furthermore, having tattoos on his body does not mean he is a bad person, and just because he may have smoked weed himself does not mean the head was a drug dealer. Please… do not try to taint the image of this boy. Yes it is true the media is trying to paint him as an angel and Zimmerman as a devil but that is not his family’s fault. Let’s focus on the facts of that night. Trayvon did not deserve to be followed, stalked, and killed. & how in the world could you draw the conclusion that he stole the skittles, because he has tattoos and maybe smoked weed? Jesus… please don’t do this to the dead. Trayvon Martin may not have been an angel, but whose record really is squeaky clean?
Regardless off what Trayvon did when he was with his friends or at school he still was a 17 year old kid who had his life taking from him he Had no weapon to protect him and being in a gated community he probably thought he was safer then being on the streets. Zimmerman new why he was doing Zimmerman stalked and attacked trayvon and then killed him with a gun. Trayvon had nothing to protect him but his hands and a gun will always win over hands…

I agree with you but the fact is he was suspended for 10 days for having drug residue in his back pack!!! He may have been suspended on other occassions. Show us some accurate photos ! However I think Zimmerman was an over zealous want to be cop who should be held accountable regardless.
What does it matter that he was suspended or for that matter, what his current pictures looked like Bob? How does it justify Zimmerman hunting and killing a 17 year old child?
All of you who think Trayvon is a “thug” or guilty based on his appearance, down right disgust me. This teenager was shot down that night based on the fact that he was black and the stereotypes that come with it. Zimmerman had no prior knowledge that Martin COULD have been a drug dealer or that he was a bad kid. Even if he was a drug dealer or didn’t have the perfect record he WAS NOT HARMING THE PUBLIC, it would have just been poor decisions he made for himself. Zimmerman is a childish boy who decided to stalk a harmless human being based on the colour of his skin. In my opinion Zimmerman had already planned to kill Treyvon at first sight of him, but called police to show the threat of “danger” in his voice and to show in the end when police came to the crime scene that he had an obligation to shoot. For the love of God people read that facts in front of you, rather than digging up and adding stories about Treyvon. This was an act of racism, and I can only pray that racism does not resurface in these cruel ways.

Why is it that any time someone says something or does something to a black person they are automatically labeled a racist? Criticize President Obama or one of his policies – you are a racist. You politically correct people are a huge problem today. No one can say anything without being worried that they’ll be labeled a racist. The media has a lot to do with all of this race baiting too. Why would they post a photo of Trayvon when he was about 12 years old? Why not post a photo of him emerging from his mom’s birth canal while you’re at it? When I first saw the picture of 12 year old Trayvon when the story broke I was shocked that this Zimmerman guy could shoot a young defenseless child. Then a recent picture was released and my perspective changed completely. The media needs to inform the public of FACTS, not their perceived bias. I agree with a previous poster that Zimmerman appears to have been a wannabe cop. He should have listened to the police and backed off. Instead he tried to confront Martin and it seems he was attacked. Zimmerman was getting his butt kicked so he shot in fear of his life. Pretty simple to understand. Zimmerman had no business confronting Martin, but when he was attacked he had every right to defend himself. Martin had no reason to attack Zimmerman unless he was being physically attacked himself. Hopefully the truth, and nothing but the truth, comes out at trial.
This is why a complete public investigation is needed, these outrageous comments by people who do not know anything are not acceptable. This case is being used by others to promote their particular agendas. In such an atmosphere both Zimmerman and Martin are abused with wild accusations.

I’d very much like to know where a 17 year old gets money for tattoos and gold teeth? Did he have a job? If so, wasn’t that affected when he went to stay with his father (in another town?) If he didn’t have a job, did his parents give him money for grills and ink? Heck, *I* don’t have money for tattoos, much less gold teeth, and my family is “middle class”.

These are VERY good points! I don’t think ANY parent would GIVE their kids $$$ for tattoos and gold teeth. Look at his dad’s right arm in the picture above. It looks like he’s “tatted up” too. So it’s likely he embraced the same anti-white thug culture Trayvon embraced.

When I was 17, I worked at a fast food restaurant and since I had no bills, my parents allowed me to use that money to buy what I wanted for myself. Is it possible that his parents allowed him to do the same and he choose gold teeth and tattoos , Angela? Or did you did you just accidentally expose your ignorance and racism?
As for the lack of receipt…honestly, that’s very weak. My local 7-11 always asks me if I want the receipt. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. Mostly, I don’t, and they throw it away under the counter.

I am not a thief. I work hard for my money and when I come out of a store from PURCHASING candy or chips or soda I don’t carry the reciept around matter of fact I don’t even want it so I throw it in the trash receptacle outside of the store. I am shocked at how the media portrayed this pot smoking, jewelry stealing, bus driver assaulting, foul mouthed, skittles eating thug as a cute and cuddly 12 year old victim that was hunted down and shot for wearing a hooded sweatshirt. What a dirty, lying, filthy, country we live in.

Yes. He stalked him and instigated a fight. If you instigate a fight you take a chance on loosing. Since you sound a little remedial, let me give you an example Murph. I am a 27 year old mother of one child whom owns a home and have attained my masters degree. By no means am I a thug or criminal but I am a 3rd degree black belt. If I noticed that you were following me for absolutely no reason on the street and made me fear that you would try to cause me bodily damage, I would have no problem “knocking you, straddling you and punching you.” It is “complete BS” to assume that Mr. Martin had no reason to fear for his safety and protect himself. This is not a back pedal or defense, rather this is simple common sense.
We have all seen the video at the 7-11. No theft was involved. We have all seen the inacuracies in a lot of the stories by witnesses and family members. How can you miss a murder investigation that went on till 3:30 AM just 70 yards from your house?? Why would you give the police false information about the last time you saw your son if you are worried about him not coming home. Audio of missing person report by Tracy Martin states he saw him at 8 to 8:30 PM and he was shot at 7:18 PM. Why would you with hold evedence from the police investigations for two days. Tracy Martin kept the cell phone untill he could check out the contents. He knew how Trayvon was. Trayvon’s mother did not come to the crime scene untill two weeks after. She was adamant that the call’s for help were Trayvon, fast thinking, but Trayvon’s father knew that it was not Trayvon yelling for help. This was before any of the FBI or Police analysis or Media enhancement and it was very very distorted. After enhancement George Zimmerman was identified as doing the yelling for help. The 9-11 call by Gz stated that he lost sight of TM and dispatcher asked which way he went. GZ got out of his car and walked and dispatcher then realized that GZ had left his vehicle. Are you following him?? Yes… We do not need you to do that… OK.. Listen to the 9-11 call and notice the change in the background noice and GZ’s voice. There was no attempt GZ was sure that the person had gotten away. TM had over 2 minutes to get home and away from the WHITE guy, DEE DEE’s phone recordings, and no problem would have existed. Note in the 7-11 video TM is wearing a picture pen of his cousin who had died. When he was shot he had placed the can of WATERMELLON FRUIT JUICE COCKTAIL and SKITTLES in his front hoodie pocket and had removed his picture pen and it was in his hoodie pocket.??? Why??/ He had items in a bag at the 7-11. He was prepared to beat this WHITE guys A##. Had no idea this guy would have a gun. When he saw the gun in the fight, stop, do not reach for it.Tavon Martin had an attitude and was angry and it got him killed. SORRY….
Idk bout you guys but when i buy something at the store i dont keep the receipt with me.. however eye witnesses do say they saw Treyvon beating on Zimmerman and Zimmerman was heard calling for help. In an earlier interview Treyvons father admits that the crys for help did not sound like his sons. However its ZImmermans fault for following him, thats not his job. His job is to call the police and let them handle the situation.
This article was not based on any other article. The conclusion reached here is based on the facts we know about Trayvon from the Police report.
